Feb 07, Not to preach (much), but I never understood the practice of having a 'crush fit' on a barrel bushing. It is absolutely not necessary. I hand fit bushings so that no movement is detected when in position, but it can be removed with your fingers. No silly wrench required.
But that's just me. LOL Estimated Reading Time: 8 mins. Nov 24, The way to strip a tight Baer is to first remove the slide completely. Then remove the spring and guide rod from the rear. Remove the plug.
I think that is exactly what happened.
Push the barrel forward and then turn the bushing. Put the link forward and use the barrel like a slide hammer to tap the bushing out. Assemble it Estimated Reading Time: 4 mins.
Apr 30, In this video I show how to remove the slide with the barrel bushing still attached to a style pistol. This is great if you're having issues with a muzz. Jul 03, Here's a little tip for removing a tight barrel bushing (barrel to bushing fit) without stumppruning.bar shows the slide stop with the"log man" modification for e.
Jan 16, The FN BHP barrel bushing is a"fixed bushing" that is installed at the factory either by a hydraulic press and/or silver soldered into place. Unfortunately, you will have to secure the services of a gunsmith to resolder the bushing into place and possibly refinishing the slide.
Aug 25, I just tried to field strip my RIA with a Ed Brown SS match barrel. Well the barrel will not come out of the slide. The barrel bushing came out nice as always. But the barrel comes to sudden stop just before the thick part of the barrel gets to where the back of the bushing would be in the slide.
See picture, That is as far as it will come out of the slide. I have never had this. Aug 29, eventually get the barrel to move forward in the bushing while field stripping, with just hand strength. It definitely needs a barrel wrench to turn the bushing and a fair amount of elbow grease. Once the"bump" on the barrel bushing is aligned in the cutaway of the slide, it still shows no signs of wanting to be removed (by hand).
Mar 20, Ok dumb question of the day. Picked up a new Accushadow 2 and for the life of me I can’t figure out how to get the bushing off to remove the barrel. I followed the steps from the picture of the newer bushing removal on the CZC site but no luck. How far should one rotate the bushing to get it. Dec 31, Barrel vice and a frame wrench. But, unless there has been some catistrophic damage to the barrel, i can't think of a good reason for the average shooter to remove a SAA barrel, Windage correction by minutely turning a barrel is very common.
May 02, Aug 17, # No, factory bushings won't pop out. To assure the bushings you install will stay put, I always recommend that you do one of these two things: Cut a slight 45 degree chamfer on the inside of the cap, or barrel, install the bushing about 1/2 mm proud and evenly peen the edge onto the chamfer.
